Water time: Pool, RV Wash and Indian Rocks Beach!

This morning we woke up and headed straight to the pool at Rock Crusher canyon RV park for the 3rd and last time.

Trying to be just like her big sister
And if we didn't get wet enough at the pool we sure did at the RV wash. Boy does it take a long time to wash that RV even with all 8 hands at work.

Then we headed out to Clearwater hoping to stay at Walmart as we knew we would be spending most of our time at the beach. However city parking rules will not allow RV parking at Walmart. In fact cars can't even park on the streets here. You must be in a designated parking lot/space.

So we were faced with trying to find a cheap place to stay as all we would be doing is paying to sleep...well and for keeping the trailer somewhere so we didn't have to cart it around to the beach and try to park it.

We chose West Bay Oaks as it was the cheapest we could find in the Passport America book at $18.50 a night. It's really a 55+ mobile home community with a few parking spaces for RV's but it is in Largo and is close to the beaches.

At first it didn't look like much...but we only planned to sleep here so we didn't care and have been pleasantly surprised. The park has very large mature trees nestled around the mobile homes. We have been welcomed with open arms by a few of the resident "neighbours" here and they have made us feel quite at home. The manager here is very laid back and accomodating. We asked how late we could check out so we could get a full day in at the beach before leaving on Sunday and he said to leave sometime before sundown! A huge bonus!

After getting settled we drove to Pier 60 to partake in their evening festivities (we did find RV parking near Pier 60 for $1.25 an hour at a parking meter. Enough room for maybe 4 RV's). We didn't find basic truck parking though as we refused to pay $10 for 2 hours at a private lot so we left and decided we would come back early in the morning for the day so we could get a parking space. We drove to Indian Rocks Beach. It had free parking and was way less busy.

The girls got to play in the waves for a bit until the sunset.

Tomorrow am we will get out the door early and head right to Pier 60 at Clearwater Beach.

Warm welcome wishes to Kay Pelham of Pelham Family who is our newest follower.
