REVIEW Rock Crusher Canyon RV Park (Florida)

A wonderful park for a day, a week, a month...heck even a year!
To get to Rock Crusher Canyon RV Park head south on 19 from Perry area Florida). Turn right onto NE 3rd Ave, Take first Left onto NE 5th St, continue onto 44 (West Gulf Highway), Turn Right onto North Rock Crusher Rd and the park will be on your left at 275 Rock Crusher Rd.

Value 5/5
Even though we paid just over $16 per night with our Passport America membership I still am rating this park at a 5. Normally I wouldn't rate it so high but for everything this park offers...$16 was a steal! The savings in the RV wash alone paid for the 2 nights we stayed here. It had spacious sites in natural surroundings and still had all the bells and whistles of a pool, playground etc!

Site Quality 5/5
Our "driveway" pad site was very level. Shade trees around us, but a lot of other sites had even more shade. We requested a lot close to the playground and they gave us one which was also large and next to an open area for the girls to play in. Full hook ups and also wifi and cable included. Use of pool and hot tub which were very clean, warm and screened in. Laundry available at $1.50 for a wash and $1.50 for a 45 minute dry, and last but not least an RV wash area.

Facility Fun 5/5
Wonderful pool and hot tub. Hot tub only for age 16 and older so the girls were disappointed as they love ours at home but this tub was at about 104 so not a safe temperature for little ones. A nice sized playground as well as swings, tire swings and a climbing wall. Picnic area and horse shoe area. We enjoyed the pool numerous times on our visit :) There is also a large meeting room/building for get togethers, celebrations, etc with a TV as well.

Natural Surroundings 4.5/5
Beautiful mature tree setting with spacious lots. There are 398 sites within 80 acres of large mature trees. A real park like setting. There were many "protected" turtles living in the park. We had two different kinds living at our site. We saw many turtles wandering around the park.

Bathrooms 5/5
Cleanest bathrooms, pool area, laundry area etc that we have seen yet!

Staff 5/5 PLUS!
Anne at the front desk was super amazing! She was very helpful, fun to talk with and a wealth of information about the area. She even gave us tips about our upcoming travel to Clearwater area. We needed an adapter for the 50amp plugs and they have them available for basically a free rental. They take a deposit incase you forget to return it but you get it all back. The evening caretaker was very friendly as well and popped over to visit us when he came on shift.

Location 5/5
Centrally located for Crystal River and Homossa Springs. Both areas offer many natural activities like kayaking, canoeing, hiking, bird watching, a few state parks, anything and everything for shopping and of course manatee tours and other dive and boating excurions. All they need is a great beach near by!

Overall 5/5
We loved this park! Not very often do I say that about a paid park as we prefer to dry camp, boondock etc but this park offered so much, and was so clean and the staff so friendly. We all had a wonderful time here. The playground was great, the pool was fantastic and the staff were super!

They have monthly rates, which vary with season but a whole year is only $5400 and if you pay it up front you get 10% off! That's $405 a month which includes CABLE, Wifi, full hook ups, use of pool and hot tub as well as an RV wash! We like this park a lot. They also have an option to buy 15 days a month for $325, leave your rig there and just come and go for the 15 days per month. Great for locals who just want to get away with no hassle of moving your rig...heck cheap storage and great facility when you do use it. We'd be in for sure if we lived nearby. We met a wonderful family from Venice, FL who do this and are super happy with it.

Yeah, that's the kind of rating that parks should aim for! Do they know about this post? You should share this to them and to any other parks you're about to go to. This could help them improve their services even more! Btw, were there other animals in that campsite? The turtle's interesting! :D

Thanks Kelvin! No I didn't let them know about this post or any other places either yet. Perhaps I will. We didn't see any other animals but we had a lot of fun watching the turtles :) Thanks for stopping by!
